All hail (well, we did)--

Well, hail. We had quite a boomer/hailstorm come in yesterday around 4pm. Luckily, G and I gave up the garden project when we were getting soaked with rain around noon-- but I did get the strawberries weeded (I think I need to move them to another location later this year), and he got the new garden box assembled and the boxes weeded out for me to plant. I hope today is the day to get seeds in the dirt! It's supposed to be pleasant (mid-60s), so when I get home, I'll figure that plan out. Likely Holly will be helping me. =)

I am not so foolish as to have put out tomato plants yet-- we had a full moon (always cold), and the weather didn't look plant-friendly. I have to purchase a few more, and get some hard-shell squash sets as well. Maybe a couple of cucumber sets. But those will not get in the ground for a little while yet. I bought three lovely tomato plants from our church plant sale on Saturday, too. I will not buy as many as I did last year-- I was inundated with tomatoes. It became a tomato tangle, a jungle of fruits. I still have bags of them in the freezer.

Today, though, is the start of the last two weeks of school. These days feel like they are unnecessary roughness. Okay I'm just tired of braining. But we'll get through-- the seniors in APLit have four days left. They are working on their final in class only. Handwritten. In large blue books that I bought. With fun pencils that I bought. I am so damned sick of AI intrusion. I want to truly know what they can do. The Creative Writing kids have their final projects to get done as well. In short, this week will be all about wrapping things up. Awards are on Friday, but we still have 3.5 school days (and one staff day) next week. After graduation on Sunday, I will have just two students. Next year, this all changes, because we are going to be our own SAU, and we get to set the dates and rules. Amen.

And this is Holly's last week of school, and we've cobbled together who is going to watch her when, starting Friday at noon. (That's me.) Next week, she'll have her dad on Mon., her mom on Tues., Papa on Wed., me on Thurs. (she gets to go to work with me), and then her dad on Friday. Crazy stuff. We'll get through it.

Then it'll be summer vacay, and Camp Memere kicks in.

Have a good day, hug your loved ones, and keep the faith. We're all in this together, and let's all get to the other side together.
