Rain-- too much rain--- and the goofy dress code for this week at school
This morning, it's 50 degrees and pouring buckets and buckets of rain. Granted, it's not ice, it's not snow (thank goodness, I don't even want to think of how buried we'd be), but flooding and overall wet and dangerous conditions exist.
I don't see much chance of a white Christmas this year, and to be honest, I'm actually okay with that. I used to be so upset if it were brown and muddy, but the older I get, the more I don't mind not having slippery roads and shoveling and so on.
The last week of school before a holiday break is usually a bit unusual, and this week is no different. Today is "Ugly Sweater Day"-- I don't know about you, but I don't own any. At least I don't think they are. That said, I have a silly bright green sweatshirt that proclaims that it is my "Hallmark Christmas Movie Watching Sweatshirt" complete with the iconic red truck and tree. I'll wear that.
Tomorrow is the complete opposite: Christmas festive wear. What to do? I'm happy to oblige, but it's likely nothing all that special. I don't have a lot of need for glitz in my life. I'll find a pretty sweater and wear that, I think.
Wednesday is pajamas. O hell no. My grannie flannels are my own little slice of joy. I might wear sweatpants and a PJ top? We'll see. And then Thursday is asking me to dress as I usually do in the winter months: Plaid. I have a pretty impressive collection of flannel shirts. I've got this.
Friday-- Santa vs. Grinch. I am not dressing as either one. I suppose that, by default, would make me "Team Grinch" but whatever. I'm just glad it'll be a short day, pay day, and the last day I have to get up and get moving early for a week.
Take care, stay dry, and have a good one,
C
