Weekend? O, you mean shift in activities?
Thursday--hooray, we are almost there!
By "there," I mean the part for the pellet stove is due today. And I hope it works. And tomorrow, the new dishwasher is supposed to come (I'll still have to contact the appliance guru to install it). And it's one day closer to not having to rush around in the morning quite so much. All good things, I hope. I miss being warm, and I really miss not having my hands in hot soapy water twice a day or more.
Weekends are not "rest days" in my house, but I do get to structure the busy-ness in a somewhat saner way, at least usually. I will have chores, errands, and so on to do, but I don't have to be "on" quite so much. People wonder why teachers are so tired; hey, even rock bands get a break in between sets. The break we get is often less than five minutes between classes, students streaming in and out, and if we have to use the bathroom, there's usually a line. So--rush rush rush. And teaching is often very high energy, and it requires being able to roll with many questions, interruptions, and unexpected situations, all without losing your nutty. And there's lunch duties, and so on. Some days, it's nonstop all the way through. No wonder I fall asleep in my chair by 9pm.
So, it's almost the end of the school week, and I'm heading into the house-chores end of things, but it's supposed to be nice today, and the sunshine will be a treat. We got quite a bit of sunshine yesterday, too, which was unexpected and truly appreciated.
Sunday, I'll be reading at church, and my little writing group will meet via Zoom, so that's something to look forward to. I think I may make a roast beef, too. Just because I can.
Have a good day,
C
